Correspondence read:
Day Care to set up like Jr. Ed days for summer program. Butch will be the Chair person to contact Amy Downs, Butch & Ziggy will put this together. If anyone can help, contact Butch. Club will donate $2.00 bags George F., 1st, Lou Baker 2nd. All in favor.
Contrary Creek correspondence read. It is now open, but it is requested that everyone respect the land owners to keep it open. Too hot now, club will look into a fall outing.
Per Ben Vaughn, there is another campground within 5 miles (in Louisa County) if Christopher Run is booked, will email info to Gail. Also from Ben if considering a fall outing, wear orange if prospecting any day other than Sunday due to the VA hunting seasons. Outing tabled for now.
Stevensville, Dave Swisher has invited us back to his farm. For the weekend of 8/1 & 8/2. We will move the August meeting to Stevensville. Club will provide a port-a-potty on site. You can start to set up on Friday 7/31.
Info sent by Dave Wright & Lou Baker. Potter County Metal Detecting Hunt, at Carter Camp, there is a 3 day metal detecting hunt August 21, 22, & 23rd put on by the FMDAC. Ore bags, gemstones, raffle tickets. Jerry G 1st, Butch 2nd. All in favor of having a booth at this event. Duane said he will add us to his flyer.

Brian has received the special license/permit for the Alaska trip raffle
Delaware Chapter requested permission to post their raffle on our site, Raffle on a Minelab $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. Contact the Delaware club for tickets or info @ www.delawarevalleygpaa.com Brian will post on the message board.
Brian has contacted 20 + GPAA chapters from the magazine regarding posting our raffle.

Old Business:
Ziggy wanted to thank Bob R. for all his work in setting up last months metal detecting hunt. Per Lou some coin setters are being made for the club for future use. Everyone had a good time at the club's annual metal detecting hunt.. THANK YOU TO BOB, AND ALL HIS HELPERS!!!
Gail reported that credit towards the December meeting nugget raffle was given to all members that worked at Jr. Ed Days, and anyone that showed up at the April meeting (when we were bumped out of the meeting room) questions… see Gail
Also at the April meeting, the bluebird houses that were raffled as a door prize were donated by Harold Clapper. A BIG THANK YOU TO HAROLD……
501C is at the attorney's, with a check.
Ziggy - Penfield outing will be on Sunday, July 12, (not the 19th as previously thought)
New Business:
Brian reported that he still has the opal that was donated by Lynn Traveny, would like to do a raffle. After discussion, it was decided to sell at, $1.00 ticket, and we will sell tickets until the November meeting. All in favor. See Brian for tickets.
Walt T. - Annual Fall Foliage Festival in Renova is the 2nd weekend in Oct. Would like to get club members to come up, and sell raffle tickets.
July meeting, there was discussion on bringing a grill, but decided to have everyone bring their own lunch and drinks & if possible something to share that does not require cooking
Butch - Walt Eason, no longer at GPAA. Nancy D. in charge of chapters & shows. Nancy sending posters for the gold show, hope to have them for the next meeting.
Butch attended the Allegheny Chapter meeting last month. Reports that they have come a long way. They have a 501 C, are incorporated, & have their officers bonded. Their treasurery has money, & club is doing well. Also, clearing more camping spots.
Magma trip - Ed E. the owner of the property is a book author, it is away from the NC tourist traps. See Ed E if interested in this trip
At this point we welcomed our guest speakers from the EGPA. Rick Atkins State Director & Ben Vaughn from HQ-EGPA
Ben said he was told by GPAA that it was too much to lease property in East. Ben left GPAA & started EGPA, family membership $50/yr gains access to all the properties.

VA state laws no permits necessary as long as public waters, dredge up to 4”. Would like to see PA get the same.
At one PA property in York the have a study permit for dredging. It is a 3 year study.
EGPA has 3 properties in PA. Working on VA, NC, & SC
Knoxville PA 10 acres - primative camping year round - about 25' across - easy access.
York, near Strinestown, PA,
Linesville, PA
Discussions included State Forrest, and National Forrest rules & regs.
In PA, if a stream has water in it for 6 mos & 1 day it is considered a public stream.
VA has Kings grant property regarding waterway & mineral rights.
Rick - Dredging permit for the study (expires 12/31/11) is the only one in PA. DEP/game Commission /Fish & Boat/Army Corp (7-8 organizations involved & watching) will get permit in next few weeks. Needs to do this right, to get approval.
Some areas have limitations from Mar 1- after July 30th spawn, fish, etc. per property.
New term being used in the permits- Power sluice vs. saying high banker.
Next meeting Sunday, July 12 Meet at 9:30am -- At Penfield outing. Bring your own lunch & drinks, and something to share….(fruit, chips, drinks, deserts that won't melt) Meeting time will be determined once we are all together. THERE IS NO MEETING ON JULY 4TH.
Raffles held. Ziggy won 50/50 donated back to club.
A big thank you to our new members, David & Doreen Reed for the donation of a small vial of gold to the club raffle at the June meeting.
